    Default Cheap Euro breakdown cover

    Hi guys,

Off to France tomorrow with the missus (Disneyland Paris, we're such kids!) Back Friday night so need breakdown cover for the 5 days (not that I don't trust my Veccy, but she's getting on a bit!).

Anyone recommend cheap basic European cover?

Cheap and good are not always a good thing when you are so far from home
    How about these
They have a reputation to live up to and are well known

France is in the 'cheap group' of countries in the AA when it comes to european cover, and especially since its a short trip, should be a good price, if you are already a member you get extra discount.

One thing is for sure the AA will give you the best peace of mind.

I only sell the uk breakdown cover so unfirtunately i cant give you a europe quote, but 2 mins on the website should sort you out!

Hey as your likey to to take the peage in (toll road) make sure the recovery outfit has a reciprical agreement with the toll operator, or you might have to pay the toll operator for a tow regardless. I think the AA might be like this, so check you will get dragged off a toll road at no instant additional cost.

Alternatively stay off the toll roads!

By the way its an easy 3 hours from Dover. But factor the toll's in or stick non toll in your satnav (but after you have crossed the dartford bridge!)

I'm not an AA basher, I think it's pretty common with all firms:

Will the AA send help if I break down on a foreign motorway?
If you have AA European Breakdown Cover we can arrange assistance in many cases. French motorways are privately managed, however, and the motorway authorities will need to arrange help for you via the official motorway rescue service. The cost of the tow off the motorway can be claimed back within the European Breakdown Cover policy benefit limits. Once you are towed off, you should call the AA on 00800 88 77 66 55 for further help.

If you're looking for cover in Europe then I would strongly suggest ADAC.

I have full joint cover with ADAC, covers me in UK and all of Europe (so I don't need regular UK breakdown cover) For myself and my OH, covered on any vehicle, it cost less than a single AA policy for UK only.

The cover is huge - far less exclusions than anyone else, they'll even tow you off the Nordschleife if you have an accident or breakdown (very few places will, and NS charge you about E140 just to get you off the track and to the main gate!) Obviously being a Euro breakdown policy there's no limit to how long your trip to europe can be, or how many you can make.

I've spent a long time comparing breakdown cover that includes Euro cover - I'd be with ADAC for the price and the level of cover even if I never went to Europe.

When I have tried to get ADAC before, I thought you needed an adress in Germany, or bought in person - please tell me its changed!

I live in Swindon, I don't have an address in Germany. I think you can either fax a form in, or email or just phone them. Luckily their English is better than my German, or I'd just be ordering Currywurst und weis bier.
