Alternator

Well after driving to Signumboys to get my rear VXR bumper/diffuser and VXR side sills fitted, the alternator decided to chuck it. The alternator was replaced under recall from Vauxhall 3.5years ago.

With the recall were the alternators suppposed to be more robust? Seems bad that an alternator packs up after 3 years?

Any need advice before going and getting a new one as I don't to purchase one that ain't up to the job.

Strange, mine has just got done as well as my mates. Im on a 56 plate and his is on a 57 plate!

Curious as to wether mine got a recall on it?

On a side note though i got mine from i paid £430 fitted!

Go for the 120amp alternator. Mine had a 100amp one in it, but Euro Car Parts advised to for the 120amp one. Paid £195 for it (new, not exchange or refurb). The lights seem slightly brighter and the starter turns a little faster since fitting it.

The 120amp might cost a little more, but IMO it was worth it

Well 3 years ago, before my ankle accident and problems, and when I was 25 stone, I did not need to push one, I would just lean on one

Got alternator replaced.

Car is going fine now apart from the centre display being a bit funny.

Top half is faded, bottom half is fine. Possibly moisture thoguh I think maybe the battery needs to get charged a bit more. Only been on a small run due to the weather here.
