Default It's not a buyers market!

I am now officially and totally fed up.

Today i learned that i have been outbid on the house i have been trying to buy.

It had been on the market for nearly a year and not sold.

As soon as i put in a bid, out of the blue another buyer appears with a better offer and better buying position.

This is now the fourth time this year that this has happened to me. I always put in a reasonable offer but the house ends up being sold for (or exceeding) the asking price after the ensuing bidding war.

So if you are struggling to sell your house, just ask me to put in a cheeky offer and it will sell in a flash

Property market is strange at the moment, Ive been trying to buy the house next door, its been on the market for over a year, I put in an offer, they've accepted it but just waiting on them to find a new place, been around 5-6 months or so now, Might have to look at buying something else

Happens quite a bit. What you'll find is that someone has registered an interest in the property which means that the estate agent will notify them whenever an offer is received or a sale is likely.

Some potential buyers are just sitting waiting for the price of the house to fall a bit more before they jump so your offer stirs them into action.

Been trying to sell mine for 8 months, everyone wants a give away bargain.
Market is so stagnant it smells.

its pretty gut wrenching especially with this place at the moment, we were half way thru buying it before, just got the survey and the chain fell thru, cost us a small fortune for nothing, now four months later it was within our grasp once more and and now looks like we'll lose out again. I wish buying houses was like buying cars

It's taken me 8 months to sell mine and dropped 22.5k to make the sale, but got 20k off the house we are buying !

Had to get an offer accepted on the house we are buying before I could drop ours , it's nothing like the last two properties I've sold that bth sold for the asking price and with in a week

Well done mate, thats what i was after doing, i dropped loads on mine to sell it but buying as you can see if another matter.

I dont see why i should be the only person in the country who has to offer more than the asking price to secure a property
