    Default MAF test results(multimeter)

Ive just tested my MAF with my multimeter set on restiance and came back with the following results:

    Pin 3 844
    Pin 4 834

Are these the normal results or is the MAF faulty? Theres no fault lights comming on but my car is drinking fuel like a fish and the MAF is the last possable cause i can think of

    Thanks in advance

Justin - I've got my MAF out the car at the moment to give it a quick clean.

If you can tell me how you're measuring the resistance, I'll compare with mine from a V6 CDTi - should be the same. Is it still fitted in the car and you're using one of the multimeter probes to a ground/earth point on the car without the MAF wiring connected?

Haven't forgotten this one, just been really busy. Will let you know asap.

Having read a few posts on the net, not sure ohm readings mean much and MAFs really need to be read with an oscilloscope .

    Thats ok mate.

I read the same thing while searching to be honest as i think the readings will be different depending on the tempreture where you do the readings i.e indoors or outside.

Im hoping all my car troubles could be down to the alturnator and not MAF

You need a scope to test ideally mate. You could check voltage by back probing.

Can you get it diagnostic live reading. Should be able to see the graph an see if it's okalong with everything else at same time
