    Default diesels

hey guys, before i bought my vec i was looking at audi a4s. basically i couldnt find one that i wanted and i decided on getting the vec instead, but seeing an ad in the local autotrader i have found the exact model i was after and im starting to have second thoughts about the vec. ive always had these thoughts if im being completely honest but thought id get over them. PLus the fact im getting sick of the vec petrol drinking habits
the A4 is a 1.9 TDI which has 101 miles on the clock, im just wondering whether this is something to worry about and if diesels are more 'robust' i.e last longer etc etc. this is the audi in question

any help would be great, cheers

well diesels do last longer, and if it's been proprely serviced, with history, the 100K miles wouldn't bother me if the price was right.. check for work on the EGR system on the VW TDI engine, they fail and take the turbo with them..

They do wear well, far better than any VX product..

A freind of mines father owns SPIRIT motor group, a VW main agent, you just can't tell the mileage of many approved cars on their forecourt..

if he said 101K, then i wouldn't dis beleive it..

cheers guys, it has been regularly serviced but its a big decision as the vec has alot more extra's like sport seats,cd player etc etc its also newer, alot less mileage than the audi and faster but im more bothered about the looks of a car than how fast it goes and that audi makes my heart pound. i was like a kid at christmas when i saw it.

Ultimately, it's an A4 with a nice set of wheels. There'll be plenty more around, don't get too hung up on one particular car. If you're desperate to get it, you might settle for a deal that you later regret.

As soon as you put a deposit down on it, you'll find hundreds of the bu99ers all of a sudden.

Bit like 2.2DTi Sri's about two and a half years ago....

Have to agree with the Audi thing though. Will be heading the same way in a couple of months.
