Posted elsewhere and managed to see a pattern now
Usually occurs whilst the engine is cold or still warming up
You don't happen to get the EMS warning light / safe mode at this point?
If you do, managed to get a fault code?
Seems to be quite a few people reporting the above and it is finally traced to the MAP Sensor
Looks like mine has finally failed, this happened to me three times last week, and the dealership spent 20 minutes trying to find the MAP Sensor to show me where it was
No lights no loss off power nothing unusual apart from challenger 2 smoke screen behind me lol. Havent noticed anymore smoke between temps but I don't really push it until at least 75-80 degrees
But tbh I'm not botherd it smokes a hell of a lot less than my 200bhp 150 1.9 Astra did.
What I will try do at the weekend is plug into my diagnostics and record and see what's happening to MAP etc at these hard acceleration points.
Have you found map ok?
Their are some pictures that I put on. Showing its location.
Only held on by 2 screws. Just such a shame upper manifold needs to come off to get to it.
Yes, since the SCV were replaced I have had this a few times
It only happened when the engine was still warming up, 3rd gear pulling onto Motorway, the engine then going into safe mode
Pulled off at next exit and switched the engine off
The engine started as normal and absolutely no smoke when rejoining the Motorway
Dealership scratched their head, no fault codes found
However, as I posted before this has happened a few times now and under exactly the same circumstances
I managed to recreate it for the dealership but on our return to their premises the fault had cleared itself and they returned fault code P0107 stored only but on inspecting the MAP Sensor found it was in good working order
As with all such things, wait until it fails completely then replace
