NOT A CAT IN HELLS CHANCE, LONG WINDED BUT TO THE POINT

This country has gone down hill big time i could give you loads of good reasons why not to, like when soilders come back mentally scarred the majority have to look for help etc etc not offered it.

The main reason is our government don't give a toss about us my mother worked all her life and in her 40s was diagnosed with cancer, in 2008 when she was only 52 she got worse the professor from christies ran tests and was adament a new drug would of helped to keep her alive so she had to write a letter explaining why she should be kept alive at a cost of £3200 a month to the government, Me my brother and sister also had to attach following letters why our mum should be kept alive(horrible experience).

Sadly 3 days before xmas december 2008 before they even replied i was holding my 52 year old mums hand who had been my best friend and rock as we never had a dad.
She was in massive pain and no word of a lie i told her if she wanted to go to go now and kissed her on the head and within a couple of minutes she went. I'm glad she not in pain but sometimes wish i had'nt of said anything just for that extra time.

But the moral of the story is we work all our lives paying massive amounts of taxes so the government can send millions & millions to the rest of the worlds needy, And also live lives of luxury when we have people in this country who need help first,

But hey it's not their money they are giving away is it i mean would they give their last £10 to someone knowing their own family needed feeding i don't think so

    I've ticked "other answer"

I think very few people in the military "choose to got to war". War is dangerous, people get hurt, sometimes you have to see your best mate's family torn apart when he doesn't come home.

People who sign up are agreeing to serve their country. They don't get the luxury of picking and choosing which fights to fight and which ones to walk away from. The government decide that, the people of the nation choose the government. Ergo - the military do the bidding of the people.

I think the original question could be confusing - as it can be broken down into three quite different questions

Would you fight to defend british territory?
Would you fight abroad if it was in defence of your country?
    Would you join the military?

i think this one might be relevant in a couple of years if things continue the way they are at present

Voted don't know, because there are one of three reasons for going to war imo:

    1) to invade

    2) to defend your country from invasion.

    3) to remove dictators from power - within reason I understand but do we have a right to interfere in another country's politics?

I would defend my country. With all that's going on really, I would be surprised if we make it to 2020 without one massive WW3 tbh - because I feel the fuse has been lit for it.
