£130 for a few checks and a pair of socks? All these checks can be done cheaper if not free.. Brake check at local garage, clutch check your self and fluids and others are easy to do as well.. Normally in winter i just set a Saturday morn and go round the car 1 wheel at a time checking everything also i apply spray grease to all the door locks and a little silicon spray to the rubbers...
cheers for the link, handy for those not experienced with cars. Most on here will be able to check that list themselves but still a handy reference
One thing missing though
Lights!
A gallon of oil and a filter are probably in the region of £50, snow socks £50-60 depending on size, and a stamp in the book, not worth getting my hands dirty.
I value my time
Ever tried changing the oil and filter on a CDTi 150? PITA as everything is to the back of the engine, and there's the undertray to remove. Hassle.
And they probably do pay £8 for the oil, but they also built the cars for £10-12k but new you would pay in the region of £20k.
I was simply bringing this offer to everyone's attention and now I'm being shot down for it? If you don't think it's a good deal, go elsewhere
Happens all the time on this and other forums . Many people assume that if you're on a forum you're a master technician and know all there is to know about everything.
Hence I don't bother posting anything that I think might be a good deal as someone always knows better.
You have my sympathies. Don't bother next time - as you can see, you won't get many thanks.
Id say is a very good deal, especially when you will normally pay around £200 for an interim service.
