Car is in vauxhall today having them fitted, but got a phone call saying they need to replace Cambelt and all the high pressure fuel lines?!? They said its what the field remedy or there system says to do??? So now they want another £220
I don't mind the Cambelt but don't get the fuel lines

Nick -can you ring them and get the field remedy number?

Then me or others can ask around and see what comes up on TIS2000 .

Nick & Mark - as an aside, do you think I should start a thread asking who owns a Y or Z30DT? At least then we could compile a knowledge base and who know's, we could even ask Admin for our own section as this engine is sooo specific with no one knowing the ins and outs of it?

When i was a Tech. for Vauxhall dealers here in Manchester, we would get the Vivaro vans in with complete failure of the diesel high pressure pump. We would find in the fuel filter housing a large deposit of metalic filings, this contamination would be throughout the entire diesel fuel system and we would have to change the fuel tank, fuel lines, filter and housing, pump, high pressure injector pipes, and in many cases the x4 diesel injectors. In your case they may have found some contamination in the fuel lines/pipes, in most cases we would be able to relevent information on these engines on TIS 2000....

Just wonder if I am having pants pulled down :-)
As they rang me up to say I needed x, y &z parts so I queried them and he said I will ring you back as the technican has the info, he then said on his system it showed you had to change all the high pressure fuel lines, but know one on here has heard of that

Will need a belt because belt has to come off to remove pump.

An they will be saying fuel pipes because your meant to change them once they've been off. But I refitted mine after doing head gasket an they've been fine.

An tbh your probably better getting them to fit full timing kit not just the belt. As its tensioners/ rollers that fail unless of course it's been done recently.
