Exclamation Intercoolers on!... It's off again...

Put the front intercooler on yeasterday, didn't fit behind the bumper properly but I got the bumper to stay on. I ran it with both static but didn't have enough clips to hold it, so I have only driven it with just the new front intercooler. Will get another clip today and run it with both, though I'll have to leave the bumper off.

I didn't notice any difference with the front mounted cooler to be honnest and believe me I wanted to! But there wasn't anything there, felt the same just louder?

Also, there was a little bit of a worrying moment when I was bombing up a big hill in third to test it out and I heard a loud bang! Yep, one of the hoses had blown off (on the side my mate did I might add!) but fortunatly it was after the intercooler and easy enough to get back on (even in the dark and fog, with no street lights and my mate standing on me!).

Didn't try it with the box on though so I'll try that today before I use both but I'm not hopefull. It may be raising the bhp a little but it's nothing worth having and the bumper won't fit on propely with it so it will be coming off again after tests. If I find that the two together work better then I'll have to go back and get a custom one made to actually fit. Mean while I'm going to go and have fun

An uprated intercooler probably won't give you any more power without the car being custom mapped. It will hold the same power for a lot longer though in high temp situations like a hot day or some "spirited driving". The standard intercooler is very good due to it being a front mount system and fairly large. I'd have been very surprised if you were able to lower your intake temps thus boosting power purely with the use of a new intercooler.

I would thought it would give you a little more mid and top end but the map would need to be adjusted to suit
