    Default Auto dip door mirror

Since my other thread got deleted before i got my answer, can anyone tell me what the auto dipping door mirror does?

I found out today that my drivers door mirror is auto dipping but i am not completely sure what its meant to do?

Plus my passengers side mirror looks to be a standard mirror as it doesnt have the extra plug on the back of it.

Auto dipping door mirror dims when it detects dazzling from a car behind. Watch what your doing with these as if you break the mirror the glass alone is over £100 for VX.

Is it just the drivers side that has the auto dipping facility then? as my passengers side looks to be a normal mirror?

    Cheers for that mate.

I was thinking that my passengers mirror may have been replaced with a standard part at some point.

yes m8 just the drivers side mirror, its controlled by the interior view mirror
as theres a sensor on there and the interior view mirror also dims aswell,
if you shine a torch in the sensor on the interior view mirror and watch them
    both go dark.

You know the mirrors are auto-dimming when you notice all the cars behind you appear to have green headlights

Fantastic feature though. Only a couple of models get the dimming wing mirror, but quite a lot got the dimming rear view mirror. And it's easy to fit to cars that don't have it too.
