Default Whats a VXR like in traffic

Tempation is really pushing me towards a VXR, I can afford to buy/insure/tax one. I drive like 8 miles to work but sit in traffic jams for at least 1hr 10mins of this 8 mile drive.

I used to have an astra turbo and it was horrendus in the traffic, could easy use £12 of juice. My current 2.2 Direct seems to sip the fuel.

To a VXR owner this is torture.

The car will do it with ease demonstrating effortless power and control. But as it will do 40 mph in 1st gear and 75 mph in second gear it'll be totally under used.

Like keeping a pet Lion in the house and never letting it out.

MPG expect 16-18 mpg in traffic like that.

Ideally what you want is a cheap runabout to get to work and back, then have the Vectra VXR for evenings, social and weekend use. Then your talking fun

My 280 bhp 2.8T Siggy gets through a lot of petrol in traffic infact some times i'm sure you can see the needle moving lol. But with normal to spirited driving around town she returns about 24mpg on a long run the best i've had has been 37 mpg.

I do drive other places as well, I only work part time 4days a week.. but sometimes its only a 2.5hr shift so it seems pointless spending all that in fuel if its really that bad which is disapointing. The misses has a 1.4 corsa sri which i could use but its somtimes in use so i cant always get my hands on it

8 miles takes 1 hr 10 mins?!?... as said above,.. cycle if your works suits, and get a VXR for the weekends fun!!
A 1.8 petrol would be the best bet for this journey if you want a Veccy for it
