Never been to them, but if planning to move I would visit both in the areas your interested in and see which you prefer etc. Also which you will get work visas for ec. Just my view

I would choose Canada ..........nicer climate ...probibly guarenteed a white christmas ...
also they are crap at sport so you want have to put up with the Aussie banter .
and also as someone said ...not so many critters that can kill you .

since when is NZ not part of downunder? NZ is easier to get into than Australia, many people use it as a stepping stone to Australia, but instead stay in NZ cos it is free of creepy of crawlies, very temperate, great lifestyle and same size as the UK.

I'm a kiwi but the Mrs is a pom, we moved to NZ in 2003 and she loved it, we stayed for 7 years but her grown up son had a son, so when she became a granny she wanted to move back here, but whilst it is nice being grandparents, she has realized NZ is far nicer, safer, better lifestyle and friendlier. She made more friends in the 7 years in NZ than she has in half a lifetime in the UK.

Bus driving of course is present in NZ, but not perhaps as prevalent as the UK or Canada, but I do recall seeing jobs advertised in my home town of Tauranga, population of 110000, the big centres will have more obviously.

Having spent my last 4 years doing a 60/40 office/orchard job I am now hating working in the UK and being in an office all day, so amongst other reasons, we have decided to move back to NZ, it offers far more than here, problem is, I will get it in the neck from the mother in law.
