Default V6 CDTi information (or lack of it)!!!

Let's face it, as I've found out recently, there's a lack of detailed info on the Y and Z30dt Isuzu engines - agreed?

VX stealers don't know much about the engine or its associated faults/problems, all the overseas forums are in a foreign language, Haynes is no good, TIS2000 doesn't offer a solution and apart from Vec-C.com, there's not a lot of useful info out there.

So what's the answer guys? What can us V6 oil burner owners do to make life easier, apart from buy a Veccy with a different engine?

I do but's it's knowing where all the components are, how they're linked together, what values each component should exhibit as a datum, etc, etc..

You said it. Get a Vectra with a different engine.

You will find nothing on these out there. I turned to www.motor-talk.de, learnt some german there, but like here, no one seems to know this engine well...apart from a user which I can't remember right now...

My philosophy is drive it to destruction, then chuck it in the skip

Someone else locally has disposed of theirs
When I enquired further today they too reported the known splutter, coughing symptoms
Replacement SCVs lasted just 3 months then same symptoms returned (suggesting it wasn't actually a blocked SCV)
The only other repair suggested was a new set of injectors, but at a cost of £850 (excluding fitting) the owner decided enough was enough

No idea, the previous owner got fed up and chucked it into auction
I saw it a few times, spoke the driver who was equally as happy as myself with the V6 CDTI as they were both 05 reg
However, he was using his for taxi and so was more prone to short low engine temperature journeys whereas mine has longer journeys
Ironically, mine suffered the blocked SCV first (2009) and his in 2010 (just over 12 months later)
I diagnosed his blocked SCV as soon as I drove it and his was repaired the following month
However, due to the vehicle usage the issue returned
With a quoted repair of £850 he decided to cut his losses and run

It's very frustrating vauxhall don't have a area technician in certain parts of the country who is trained fully in this engine, as when running correct the 1.9cdti is not in the same league

Thats' outrageous and a poor excuse from VX
The one in our region is not trained on this engine, hence why he made two visits to see mine
He made loads of phone calls on the first visit, downloaded loads of information to his laptop, and confirmed the issue very quickly on the second visit
On the second visit he confirmed he had since been to the local Renault dealership to discuss the Y30DT engine

just a thought, but do issuzu fit the engine in their 3.0 4x4s? If so, wouldn't they be a good bet?
