I considered this unit when I was switching my head unit...

Quality blue tooth unit which offers full ipod control... but doesnt play cd's as it has no CD drive... which rulled it out for me!

also, for that money you can get some top quality double din units (clarion and JVC have units at this proce range) which will play DVD's also...

    ahhhh... ok...

single din = what we have all been fitting into out cars for years and years...

Double din - Most mordern cars from arround 2002 have been fitting double sized head units like the CD30 or the CDR 2005. This space is a double din size and can take a much larger head unit etc...

Both need a fitting cage to go into the Vectra..

    Information Overload.....

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

International standard ISO 7736 defines a standard size for car audio head units. The standard was originally established by the German standards body as DIN 75490, and is therefore commonly referred to as the "DIN car radio size". It was adopted as an international standard in 1984.
Head units generally come in either single DIN (180 x 50 mm panel) or double DIN (180 x 100 mm panel) size. The depth is not standardized; as a result, some cars such as the Opel Manta have the correct sized front aperture but will accommodate few DIN sized radios other than the original due to the shallow depth; this despite the vehicle being manufactured as late as 1988. The US standard for a DIN radio is 2" x 7" and the Double DIN sized radio is a 4" x 7". Some radios in Japanese Kei cars do not conform to the DIN standard however

Mind this is from Wikipedia so chances are its complete rubbish

I would personally avoid the Asteroid until the boot times are quicker... This HU runs on Android (I'm a big big fan) and as such can take a long time to get going, if you have an android phone, turn it off then pull the battery out and then switch it back on.... then access your music and start playing a track, thats how long it'll take until you can listen to music in your car....

Its a brilliant idea and a very very good attempt, but the boot times need addressing before its fully usable in my opinion....
