I don't think a brochure will state what's been removed for cost cutting purposes.

These links will help you track the model year changes:

    MY2011

    MY2011.5

    MY2012

The caveat is that GM don't always carry out the changes so I agree 100% with Matt. Get a brochure and start reading from page 58.

    2012 Insignia Brochure Edition 1

If you are buying new I would not go into the dealership without the latest edition because the Spec. changes depending on which order bank is live at the time.

As an example my MY2010.5 SRi Nav arrived with three changes from the Spec. is was supposed to have (it was only built six weeks before) but as it turned out they improved the car for me personally.

I would also recommend joining the forum in this link. Plenty of great advice on there as well as people that actually own the cars or are in the process of buying one.

If I was doing that now I would pay particular attention to the the wheels. My car came with 18" alloys as a no cost option and they are only just big enough for the car. Although they are now a costed option they are not that expensive in comparison to the overall price. I've not seen an Insignia SRi with the (now) 'standard' 17" wheels but they look horrid in the brochure. (just sayin' )

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 72K

IIRC the biggest downer is the removal of visible exhaust pipe on the 2.0 CDTI SRI's, not even as a cost option, (although retained on petrol CDTI's?)

It was supposed to be deleted on the MY10.5 but it didn't happen until the MY11 arrived.

That was one of the things that confused me the first time I saw my car in the dealership car park. A nice bonus as it turned out.

    Petrol CDTI?

Quite shocking that in this day and age for a car in this category that you should have to *pay* for what is now seen as a standard fit feature.

Is there any other car like this (Mondeo/Passat/Avensis/Laguna etc) that does NOT have electric rear windows?

Considering all these changes and things taken off for an updated model year car, I'm glad I didnt opt for the Insignia after the Vec C - partly because adding on all these options will do nothing to stop the horrific freefalling residuals all big Vauxhalls suffer.
