Default Would This Work In My Veccy??

I have an 05 reg with cd70 and satnav, I want to play music from my mp3 player and currently use a transmitter which is rubbish. There is no aux-in on my model and i have given up on that route . Would something like this work ok??

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/i-FM-RDS-Universal-Interface-withText-Display/dp/B001M5BRPE"]Amazon.com: DICE i-FM-RDS Pro Universal iPod to Car Stereo Interface withText Display: MP3 Players & Accessories@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41p-ULhcz0L.@@AMEPARAM@@41p-ULhcz0L[/ame]

I would like to control it from the steering controls but it isnt a must, just want clear music through the speakers and would like everything as discrete as possible.

Any links to similar items or anything else i should know like fittings needed etc? Thanks guys.

Should do - it's an FM modulator. It sends the signal straight into the aerial lead, rather than via wireless transmission. The radio sees it as a radio signal input so you still have to tune the radio to the correct frequency. There should be very little interference, unless you had a very strong signal very close. You may well need an aerial adapter as well if your aerial connects via a Fakra style (square) connector rather than a round co-ax. Track control will be directly via the iPod dials, volume only via the radio (including steering wheel).

My take on it was like this:

but now I have Parrot MKi9200 which beats it hands down, and does the phone.

There have probably been loads of threads asking these same questions but I'd appreciate your input. Forums haven't steered me wrong yet.

Just looked through the thread, very tidy job! Looks class. I have mine in the same place only I used the holder in the box the ipod came with and sprayed it black.

How did you get the leads to come out there?

i too have cd70 navi have looked in to this sort of thing to buy but in the end just put everything from mp3 on to disk you can get around 80-100 songs on one disk in mp3 format so all my music works out about 4 disks
i know its not the same but it means i still get to use all the controls on the steering wheel so its safer

Keeron - your Bestbuy link is just a cable - it would link the headphone output to an RCA input, which there isn't on the Vectra radio. The other downside of a link from the headphone socket is that the iPod doesn't get charged.

And, not all radios support mp3 discs so I didn't have that option.

    Hasn't BestBuy just gone bust?

@ the second link: I don't have a clue about these things things, hence asking for the advice

I dont mind not being able to control via steering wheel but it would be nice. Everything i looked up that allowed this required aux in, which i dont have, or is very expensive.

The first link I posted is fine for what i want, good quality music. I would put the music on a cd but I have way too much music, and not controlling it via steering controls is fine as I normally have the mp3 player on random.

So basically has anyone used something similar to the first link, does it work well, easy to install etc?

Thanks again for the help so far
