    Default Security code

I'm going to be doing some work on my car shortly which requires the battery to be disconnected, However I didn't get the car pass when I bought the car so therefore don't have the radio code. Its a cd30, does anyone know if i will need it or if it will be fine since it's paired with the on board screen

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure you will need it if disconnecting the battery....I seem to remember that something similar happened to me once on a Focus I had - I think you can get the code via the web somehow and there maybe a small cost involved, sorry I cant be more specific!!

the chances are you will not need the code, its only if its been activated on headunit. I have disconnected my battery on mine and the wifes car with issues at all.

you wont need a code as there programmed to the car so when you
re connect the battery you just have to re tune ya stations and set
    the time n date etc.

all the head units from a certain year dont need a code

Full canbus don't need a code.
Half canbus do need a code.

Easiest way to tell is via the steering wheel.

Full canbus = 4 buttons and 2 scroll wheels.

    Half canbus = 6 buttons.

If you've got the latter, then you'll need a code after a power interuption.

But then again, my 02 GSi with the NCDC2013 was half canbus and didn't need a code .

But my 54 plate Siggy half canbus with a CDR2005 does need a code- uh?
