    Default heater fans not blowing

    evening all,

recently my heater fans have stopped working, as a added bonus they stopped in fan speed 0 so unable to tell if its the resitor or the fan motor itself.

i have a gsi so have the fully electric fascia....just wondering what checks i can do, where to locate components etc isit a pain?

    anybody able to help? thanks...Jaspa!

    Default

is it normal heater or climate control

the fan motor is located behind the glovebox

check under you scuttle panel to see if the drain tube is blocked

if it is there will be a lot of water then youll prob find the water has ingressed through your pollen filter and flooded the fan

if its a normal fan it should still work on number 4 if its the thermal fuse if its climate control then none of the settings will work and it will be the regulator at the bottom of the fan unit

take pollen filter out and you will see the top of the fan

make sure that the fan rotates ok
if the fan is ok and there is power to the climate control unit under the radio ( i.e the lights are on ) then yes its 99% chance that the regulator has gone

its a grey unit located at the bottom of the heater motor

now the bad news , its £176+vat from the dealers
