Headlight self leveling problem

My headlights do not self adjust when they are turned on, I am not sure when they stopped working but now the dark winter nights are setting in i have noticed my lights point down just in front of the car.

are there any simple checks i can do or things to look for?

Get a look at the level sensor on one of the front suspension assemblies..... was a classic on the Omegas that the 'arm' of the sensor would pop off it's pivot on the sensor.
