Default BSR stage 3 vs Maptun

Right just had a look at BSR site.

Their stage 3 package states downpipe, injectors and map to acheive 233bhp and 370 nm, see here: http://en.bsr.se/products/t937/

Maptun site is injectors, catback, software, turbo, filter for 240bhp and 350 nm, see here: http://www.maptun.com/tuningGuide.ph...56&listorder=5

Both are for the same model and year of car - so did opel cars come with the better turbo? Cant understand the difference between the packages for roughly the same performace.

My experience of bsr setups (and a few others on here) I ran stage3 with only 218 bhp. And 222 bhp on another rr, they came up short of what they were claiming. Also had problems with boost valves after running with thier software.

but members have gotten over 230-240 with their BSR stage 1 .so why both with stage 3 to get less results ...

The garrets would pop at 1.4/1.5 bar I believe so they must be pushing the normal set up to its upper limits to hit 230/240 bhp on garret turbos and blue injectors. Would be interested to see how lean these are towards top end.

I would imagine those claiming the 240 bhp were running later models that came with green injectors and the Mitsubishi turbos.

The above packages are cars up to 2005 fitted with blue injectors and garret turbos units.

Looking at the stage 4/5 map tun myself. Have spoken to quite a few places now (obviously they give you their sales spin speech) but most believe the garrets are maxed at around 230 bhp and around 1.1 bar.

Yes just had a look at 2007 models onwards with just a map hit 220 bhp with just a map, so it's possible with filter exhaust and map they hit the higher ends with just a map.

Still heard bad things on here about BSR not too many bad comments about map tun even on the Saab forums.
