hi v man .with the flap down push the meccanism back in the centre of the flap with just one finger , you should just feel it click into place then retry it .
what happens is the sliders are probably covered in dust and gunge and they start to stick and in turn they overload the springs.

Whatever you do, don't force it. The mechanism in these is made of very thin metal, and if it gets distorted you'll find the cartridge won't lock in place properly. I dread every time I change my CDs as sometimes it can take dozens of attempts to get it to accept the cartridge becaue the previous owner was apparently a bit heavy handed.

You can dismantle it to get the cartridge to come out if you need to. I assume you've noticed it's actually two single DIN units - a radio/tape unit and a cd changer unit.

As bobbsignum said - just press it in the centre with one finger and hopefully it'll click into position and start working.

Tried pushing it back in, it doesnt click back as it doesnt actually try to eject. It makes like a low tone whirr to say trying to eject but nothing physically happens.

The whirring is the motor that opens up the magazine trying to close it again. There's probably something out of place preventing it. I think you're going to have to take it apart

Ive had this on a few CCR2006 and NCDC radios and ive taken them a part every time very easy to do and saves you wrecking mech inside unit, Best to take it apart and hook it up to a battery and press eject that way you can see why its not ejecting.

Most cases its the CD cartridge not closing correctly and a gentle push helps it eject, But these units are prone to mech failure
