    Default 1.9 cdti 120 antifreeze

    Hi

Would it be ok to use normal blue antifreeze in my 1.9 cdti 120 to do a coolant change as do not know when it was last done.

Realistically you should be using the long life stuff.
Just goto your local Vauxhall dealer and buy the correct stuff that they recommend. It's not going to be that expensive, as per a lot of the other service items.
It's often a misconception that service items are expensive from the dealer - most of the time they're as competively priced as the other motor factors.

about 3 months ago i went in to vauxhall to buy some genuine gm vauxhall antifreeze i asked for the one for my 1.8 vectra they gave me the red/orange 1 litre bottle
i already had the red/orange originally from new in the tank
    part number 93170402
it is longlife and goes down to -38
mix 50 percent water and 50 percent antifreeze
    about 4 pounds

what colour is in the your tank?

No don't use the blue it's not suitable. A simple search on here will answer that. It's also a bad idea to mix them even if one has been flushed.

The red/pink stuff is good for five years, if you don't know how old it is then get it changed. Better safe than sorry.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Do not use the blue stuff, it went out with Noaks ark pal, only suitable for mk1 escorts and the origional Mini these days. The red stuff only costs about £1 a lt more than the blue stuff but lasts much longer and has specific anti corrosion properties. As Big Dave and Ste say go to VX for it, its as cheap from them as it is from any motor factor and you know its the proper stuff. You'll need about 3lt to get a good strong 50/50 mix, Maybe someone could tell you exactly how much the 1.9 takes.
