Signum 3.0l CDTI auto..54 reg (140,000) full service

Driving back from basingstoke today my car had no drive and it seems to me like the clutch is slipping (auto box)
Limped it round to my boys garage and the diagnostic machine pulled these codes up....

    P1743-Transmission component slipping intermitten
There ring me tomorrow after there gearbox chap has had a shufty..

Please somebody tell me that this isnt expensive..had the car 3months now...
    1st month service-£300
2nd month-two new front tyres and tracking £245
    Now this month......£...?????????????????

Its quite common for the water to leak into the auto box oil on the Astra H so it might be the same with the Signum.

With the Astra its a new box thats needed.

Sounds similar to when the DMF fails, looked at what my dealership would have charged me and drive the car away as quick as possible!

Well the verdicts in....£1500--£1800 to repair gearbox...
I only paid £2500 for the car
Now I have 2 options.. Firstly I could pay this but the gearbox guys will only cover the parts they change in the box so it's not even a complete box
Optioin 2- I found a new box and it's a match coming from a 70,000 mile car and to buy and have them fit it £900-£1000
To say I'm totally fooked off is an understatement
The cars to good to scap so I think I better go option 2..
