radio working, not working, working again

the radio was fine on the way to work this am. when i came out of the paper shop tho the sound was terrible, it was all muffled and not really useable.

so i turned it off and pulled keys out once parked, now it seems to be working again.

is this a known issue or just " one of those things"?

must be an issue because mine is the same, i have to switch off then on to get reception mine is the cd 30.

Mine did this once, then was fine again. CD30 as well.

OK, i have a lot of this happening with the same radio and the same car. One time per almost every week and sometimes even twice a day:

In the moment i start the ignition, sometimes the sound of CD30 unit (radio or CD) gets realy wierd. It gets very quiet, or it gets very loud, and always totaly distortioned. So i have to turn off the radio. If i turn it on later, the sound is the same.

The sound is normal only if i turn off the ingition and then start the engine again.



Is there any known solution for this problem?

I have not had a CD30 radio in any Vectra that I have driven.

However a quick suggestion.
Assuming you can do so, turn off the Ignition logic, so the radio does not come on with the ignition.

You will have to turn the radio on/off manually.

There is a outside possibility that starting the engine, and the voltage drop when doing so, is causing the problem.

Maybe worth a try to see what happens.

Plus what engines do you guy have?? Petrol or Diesel??

Edit: searching Tinternet, it seems that some CD30's have overheating problems, and the answer seems to be to have a cold feed to the back of the radio.
