    Default unknown valve

Hi my 3.0cdti y30dt had a small green plastic valve connected between what I think is a solenoid and the main engine I have a picture in the link. The problem is when replacing the pipe it broke so the pipe was fitted without it. The car goes fine until you give it the welly then the spanner comes on and limp mode. When I disconnect the pipe I hear like a vac release and upon restarting the spanner has gone. Can anybody tell me what this green valve is and a part number for a replacement?
    Regards and thanks,Ian.

Just had a look at mine with the aid of a torch. Reluctant to remove it to see what's inside in case it breaks like yours did .

Looks to me like a one way/non return type of thingy. With it off, can you blow down each end or just one way?

I think your best bet at this stage might be a trip to a VX parts dept and have a look at their microfiche. Get the part identified, get a price and then walk away and have a think what your next move will be.

Might be worth just taking the old part in and seeing what they say. I can't imagine it was designed to flow both ways as what would be the point of a bit of plastic? As you've found out, the engine doesn't like it not being installed so it must serve a purpose.

    Keep us posted

Its a small non return valve on some kind of vacuum line to prevent the diaphragm reversing on itself under certain conditions (so am guessing) but think it will be boost or overboost sensing?
