You need to do your CBT test first and have a set of L plates I think!

Yea you need to do a CBT Test (about £100) then ride around with L plates on the bike.

Oh and good luck with the RS there reliability isn't that good with it being a 2 stroke, very fast for a 125 though

I also thought the same as you when i was looking into getting myself a bike. People with provisional moped or motorcycle entitlements issued as part of their full car driving licenses must also do a CBT before being allowed to ride a motorbike on the road

If you are over 21 you can do a direct access course which would allow you to ride a bike of 500cc

hmmm thats sounds interesting i could do that and still ride a 125 for a year or so, i have road alot of bikes/quads off-road but never on the road and i would like a smaller bike to get the feel for it.

Direct access allows you to ride pretty much anything you want i think. Gotta be over 21 to do it at the moment but thats changing to 24 in 2012 so i've been told.

I'll be doing my direct access next year before the law changes
