Default Puncture - Space Saver Advice

    Hi everyone

Don't post here often, tend to read instead, but need some advice here.

Picked up a puncture on the way to work this morning, managed to drop the kids off and limp in to work (only about a mile in total since it popped). I know the tyres needed replacing anyway and this was a screw so thank my lucky stars in a way.

Problem is, i've just been out and put the space saver on, but I have the 19" snowflake wheels and the space saver is a 16". Is this safe ? It does look somewhat silly although I'm more concerned about getting the kids home. I have about a 10 mile trek including motorway, I'll be doing about 40mph tops I should think but just concerned whether the wheel is suitable.

It's the front right wheel if that makes a difference. I've just read that I should put one of the rears on the front and put the space saver on the rear, but not sure how as the jack seems to lift one corner mainly. Should I go swap round or just be uber-slow on the way home ?

    Thanks all

You jack up the rear first and fit the space saver. Lower the car, then jack up the front and replace the punctured wheel for the wheel you've just taken off the rear.

    What he said.^

Put the space saver on the rear. Your steering and braking are not affected then.
