    Default Santa Pod Slow Way

Didn't impress with my times yeasterday, only managed 16.0. Got three runs at that time actually but terminated at just over 89 mph... I only got just under 90 when I was running 15.6 though, so I think it is a little faster once it's off the line. Just couldn't get any grip though, no matter what I tried (bigger tyres needed me thinks). May have had something to do with all stuff for the weekend, my tools and the new (not fitted) intercooler all cramed in the boot... Still, as I was the only one who ran, that makes me the fastest!!!

I'll get to work on the intercooler tomorrow but I'm still a bit tired after the weekend. I realsied on saturday that I had forgotten my licence (again) but unwilling to be defeated I drove home after the fireworks and got it. Set off at 18:30 and got back at about 07:00 in time to start queing up at the front. I was the first car down the track!!

So I'll let you know when I've tried out the intercooler, I intend to try the following:

    standard intercooler (just to compare)
    front mounted only
    both intercoolers together

If there is no obvious difference in lag/power/torque, I'll take it to a rolling road and see what that says.

Cool, sounds interesting about the intercoolers. Would be interested in the results.

Hey mate, good to see one Vec on the track at the weekend, i'd be worried about the smoke screen you laid down behind you though!

The pro racers run at around 12-15psi

I didn't know what they were at because I left my gauge at home (with my licence) but when I got to the garage the machine said 25psi. So I think next year I'll have to get some 17*8j alloys and stick some Toyo Proxes 888 255 bad boys on there and see if that gives me some grip.

It wasn't smoking at the start of the day but I kept turning the box up and swaping boxes to see which felt best. I nearly had that scooby WRX on the last run... until he got off the line.

I think the rubber was making the track more slippy at the start, I had chunks of other peoples rubber all over my tyres!
