    Default Clutch Advice Please....

    I had a new clutch fitted in March 2011 by Courtenay Sport and its failed this weekend.

    It was a Sachs uprated clutch which was then sent off to CG Motorsport and converted into a sintered 6 Paddle racing clutch.

    I dont know the exact specification because I was never told it. But was assured it would handle my Stage II power upgrade at 330 BHP and 430 lbft. Which it did... for 6 months.

    Its been suggested that I should have had my flywheel skimmed as not doing that alone can make the clutch pressure 30% less effective

    So it appears I should have had the flywheel skimmed, or some are suggesting a Billet Alloy flywheel. But some are suggesting a Billet Alloy flywheel will destroy the gearbox and a Duel Mass Flywheel would be better.

    So now with my Nitrous Oxide system I need a clutch to handle around 500 BHP and 550-600 Lbft, but there are so many options and I need to make sure I get the right one this time.

    Any ideas? Help?

    is there no clutch that would be suitable from the vectras cadillac cousins over the pond, I know theyre rwd but may be an option, I know the billy basic model is something like 300hp?

    just a thought

    steve, have a word with ian @ MPG about the one he has in his car, afaik it's a custom jobby and can handle power output of around 550ftlb
