yes... you do not want to have an overboost situation..

I had mine dialed down a bit and given more torque

best to try avoiding using your turbo until your engine is up to temp.. its all about the oil... can't say if that was your issue though.. you will know soon enough if you have goosed it... did you fit the manual boost controller you were looking at then?

just reread this...your map/ecu will have limit to the boost but not sure if its dependent on the engine not being warm enough.... I would not know, i don't boot it until its around 85c

My remapped diesel won't rev past 3000 revs when the engine is cold. No drama, just loss of momentum.

    just as an update..

this morning i was 3/4 mile into my commute when i was about to be nailed by a truck (it was forced to move by other dangerous traffic) so I was forced to stomp the loud pedal. I had no such restriction and my car took off as usual and did 1.4 bar before I eased off back to normal reaffic sppeds. I only needed to do this for a short sprint fortunately as i do not like racing the engine when cold. However, as an answer to your inital question mine does not hold back when cold on its remap so I doubt yours would to. You may need to be looking at something else for to the reasons why you did not get any decent boost.
