Default Kumho ecsta spt 225/45/17 tyre pressure

I have a set of 4 kumho ecsta spt 225/45/17 extra load tyres but im not sure what pressure they should be running at.Ive looked on the sidewall of the tyre and all it says is do not exceed 51psi.I checked the pressure the other day and all had different pressures in the ranging from 30-34psi so i couldnt even go by that really

The tyres are not the same fitting that they fitted as stardard on my car.

My car is a 2006 vecrta c SRI

If it's a 2.2 then the pressures should be 32 psi all round when you have up to 3 passengers.

Ultimately though, you should consult your handbook as different engines and passengers / loads will need different pressures. If you've not got one then it can be downloaded from Vauxhall's website.

sorry i forgot to mention its a 1.9DCTi.

Yes i have the handbook but because these were not the tyres that came standard with the car i wasnt sure if they would have a different pressure

IIRC it says 33psi in my handbook so ill stick to that

    Thanks

    I usually base it on wheel diameter x 2 plus 2 psi so in your case 17 x 2 +2 =36

    hi justin.

just brought 2 kumho sport 225/45/17, for the front of mine.

haven't had them fitted yet, so was just wondering what there like on the road, grip, noise etc.

    cheers .

I run the Kumho KH31 at 36 psi all around. 225/45/17 Its the 2x wheel diameter + 2 rule that I go by.

The rears have at least 6 mm on them if not more and the fronts have worn evenly down to 4 mm. This is after 21,000 miles. (town and motorway driving)

    Im very happy with them.

Great tyre in my mind, even in the wet.

    Will buy again for sure

    EDIT : Im running a 1.8 VVT 2006 Sri
