    Default High Performance Engine Oil

    Just for anyone interested.

Spoke with Opie Oils this morning to get better engine oil for the Vectra VXR and next years race season

Have ordered 12 litres of Gulf Competition 5w-40 racing engine oil (5w40) - enough for two oil changes.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60122-gu...-oil-5w40.aspx

I asked them about it being 5w-40 (as its normally 5w-30) and he said because of my level of power it would be needed. So thats ok.

I also asked him about the Variable Valve Timing on the Vectra VXR engine and if it would cause a problem, they assured me it wouldn't be a problem.

So all is ok. Standard oil filter should be ok as well according to them.

    Good stuff spoons!

I'll be blowing the dust off my Opie account for my next oil change, Silkolene pro S I think.

Have you had any experience with Royal purple?

Be interested to see if you notice any difference, or if it just quietly gets on with it and does the job.
