    Default New towbar fitted

Hi all just had a so called professional to fit a towbar to my vec.. No real probs but he has wired the live feed into the same fuse as the fuel pump?? in my view this is not a good idea as if anything happens and the fridge trips while travelling this would mean the car would die to dont really fancy no power or steering on motorway... Is this the norm to be wired into?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    i wouldnt think so mate,

he's gone for an ignition live as is needed.

much safer to have the fuse power a relay and have the caravan live on its own live feed.

the thick red wire in the bottom of the lowest plug on the right is the trailer power live

taking the relay live from the fuel pump shouldnt be a problem as it will only use about 200mA

or take an ignition live from another fuse(im not sure which others tho )

Ah i get you.. No real current draw on that feed then like fridge? so take fuse from some thing like f17 accessory socket? or there is a f13 that says towing in manual just has no fuse in it?
