Default Custom ally Foot Rest MKII : Im at it again!

Bought a second ally foot rest for my mates siggy (The 1st modified one I did was for my vec see here)

Thanks again Paul for the great foot rests and here is some very shamefull advertising for you if the admins don't mind.
    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144381

I decided like mine to mod this one for my mate but go a bit further. Extra holes basicly.

Its still a work in progress (drill battery ran out too soon and there is only so much I can do in the back garden when it's dark) I will post more pics when more is done.

Not all of the holes line up perfectly but after im finished you wont notice it at all. Bit of cutting to do yet.

My mate has the insignia pedals, the same as mine so I wanted to make him a early x-mas present so he is matching fully downstairs so to speak

    Jobs to do are :-

Drill the rest of the holes and counter sink them to smooth them out.

Then re drill all holes to 10mm (8mm at present)

    Re Counter sink all holes.

Then add the 10mm rubbers to further match the insignia pedals.

Cut it down to futher blend in with the standard plastic foot rest

Sand the entire plate to match the pedals material a bit more.

Finally fit it to his car and then think why did I not do this with mine

    All thoughts welcome. cheers

I have one of these. It's a great bit of kit. Goes well with the Irmy pedals!!

Thanks pal, I hope you like what im doing to your hard work

Just an update today. Got home form work tonight at 9.15pm and by 9.47pm this evening I'm now at this. It's coming along nicely and a big thanks to my girlie who when I rang her from work was happy to put my drill battery on charge for when I got home. God bless her (she actually takes an interest in what I mod)

P.S Next bit is cutting it, to shape the standard plastic foot rest snugly.

Left work early today and set about the footrest again.

I have not finished yet. Drill battery on charge now and my right arm is aching quite a bit. Need a few more muscles I think.

Got a great new 10mm drill bit from B&Q which made drilling the holes a lot easier. It went through them like butter. So all holes now drilled to 10mm and started to countersink and "rough" sand down the plate.

Also will cut the edge down soon to line up better with the holes. (Also awaiting the 100 rubber sticky pads to arrive)

Let me know what you think

Just had enough battery charge and light to finish countersinking the rest of the holes and giving it a very quick sand as its a very noisey device. I dont want to upset my neighbours after all. Will fully sand it tomorrow.
