Default Diesel Knock and no compression on No.4

    Hi All,

My car on the way to work all of a sudden a bad diesel knocking sound happend. parked up and got it towed in.

Thought was injector....no. impellable on water pump broken but no compression in no4 now.

    Any Ideas??

Am i right in thinking they are chain driven with belt for water pump?

    Help!!!

    Camshaft is belt driven m8.

As for the noise, well if there is no compression on No.4 then check the injector doesn't have tar sitting round it's seat. Could be the no.4 injector seal has perished - but I'm just guessing tbh.

He has mentioned about the impellor being broken on water pump/////

Could this have got lodged in a valve?

Injector has been tested and all ok?

Borken impellor pump getting lodged in a valve is impossbile. And if the valve was jammed open anyway I think low compression would be the least of your worries.

Could be knackered valve seats or compression is escaping via the injector or glowplug seats on that cylinder I think.
