    Default Vex c key fob

    Hi every one.
    I hope some one can help I have just got back from picking up my vex c 2005 six cdti & the key is falling apart so I open it to have a look as it was not working.when I opened it all the little buttons were on the bored ok only there was a little black bit lose were the battey goes I think it has came off the bord & am worrying it is the chip to start the car what do you guy think, how do I take off the battery holder on the bored to have a look under please help all the best Martin one last how much for a new fob

    Think this is the transponder chip. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/73/1003920sp0.jpg/ it should slot down the side. A new key from vauxhall is about 60 to 90 quid i think as they reprogram it. Ouch. It might just be a bit of the plastic retaining tab

    Your transponder chip is in built onto the board. The chip in the pic is for older cars.

    thats the transponder for an Astra G or possible a Vec B?

    Hi thanks for the replys it's not that in the pic, has any one got a pic of the bored with out the battery holder on it as I think it has came off the bored.

    I have found a guy on line his in London who says he can fix the fob make as new for £25 I might try that thanks again Martin

    Hi again well the key is still starting the car fine only the central locking is not working from the door or fob it works if I press the central button to do it the only thing that has happened is the battery was flat when I went out I only got this car yesterday & hoping you guys can help thanks Martin

    If its not working from the door or remote it sounds like a fuse blow.

    Does it work from the button on the door on the inside?

    Default keyfob

    you have to be carefull if you are going to try and take the battery holder of the board as it can be quit fiddly, and they are brittle putting to much heat on the holder will melt it.
