    Default Radiator top mount bushes

    Evening all,

I need help with replacing the above. i have sprayed the springs with WD40 for some time now but this only cures the creaking sound for a couple of weeks. i have 2 new top mounts but i just can't see how you get in to change them, do i need to take the radiator out or can this be done with it still fitted to the car. Also how are they held in it dosen't look like a bolt is holding them in, is it a pin that goes through the spring that can be pulled out.

    The car is a 53 20T Vectra

    Thanks in advance

    Phil.

what you need to do is loosen off the lower rad mounts to allow the rad to drop down an inch. change the rubber mounts and the tighten up the lower mounts again. you will need your bumper off to do this though

Can i drop the rad without disconnecting hoses.

Does anyone know what holds the bushes to the rad. i have had a good look and dosen't look like a bolt. is it just a pin that pulls away.

    Cheers
    Phil.

you can leave the hoses connected.. as stated, only loosen the lower mounts so they drop down at an angle a bit thereby lowering the rad pack enough for you to do what you need with the top mounts
