Default Spanner light, but no code.

Got a strange problem, the spanner light comes on and stays on at ignition until the engine is started, normally it lits up for a sec or two on ignition then goes off. So anyway i use a fault code finder on it and it came back with no codes. Odd.

I had that with mine. I belive it is nothing to worry about, it could just be a glitch. If the spanner light goes out when the "engine is running" and the car drives ok,then I don,t think it is anything to worry about

I was told that its a low oil pressure warning from the engine start, as soon as pressure builds to what the sensor is expecting the light goes out......then again the guy could have simply been feeding me manure!

Yeah engine runs absolutely fine, must be just a glitch in the system.

    Cheers.

It means there has been a fault at some point recently but is now not present, it can be cleared with a decent code reader... as long as the light goes out once the engine has fired there is no problem & it will probably clear itself after so many fault free starts

the OP's light goes out imediately after firing... totally different to your glow plug fault which will only get worse once the ice kicks in
