Lightbulb Saturday front suspension maintenance plus more - anybody want to see how its done?

    Guys

Tomorrow I will be stripping off my front suspension to change my top mount bearings.. Its a job I can do blind folded.

However if anybody wants to come down and see how its done, you will see first hand what you need to do and how to do it therefore giving you some confidence to tackle this job yourselves someday..

I will be starting about 10 ish in the morning and only expect to be at this for a couple of hours max. Then I may do an oil change or starting a detailing session on mine as its minging.

I will also be wet sanding some scratches on mine and the wife's car and getting the polisher out to buff the paintwork back up..

I have plenty of other jobs to do on it, so could easily take up the whole weekend if I wanted.

Reply in here if anybody wants to come along and i will pm you some addy details..

i should point out that this bearing replacement means a full front strut and spring removal... so useful to anybody thinking of changing their front shocks and/or springs at some point.

A nice open offer to learn some useful stuff, I intend to renew the droplinks on mine soon (going for the uprated Saab ones).

Good luck with your weekend jobs mate, looking forward to some comments etc on wet sanding, I have some dastardly scraches on mine could probably benefit from the same technique, be interestng to see before and after pics

I'd love to pop down, but am a bit of a distance away and will be filling up with alchohol after the England game

yeah your right its a quick enough job on my own mate, but if showing somebody and letting them have a go it will take longer. i reckon on a hour for me if doing it alone... seems i will be anyway, so its straight to the tools after the rugby.

Wow that's very tempting but I have to say "sorry can't make it"

I do very odd shifts at work so I don't get to see my two boys that much during the week. Saturdays are for them and their dad to have some quality time together.

The offer is a great one for peeps like me who want to do these things but don't know where to start or know/have the proper tools.

I'm sure you won't be alone tomorrow morning.

Thanks anyways. Hope it goes well.
