when i had mine changed last year ,they just changed it over no problems with it . khalid
Give autoglass a call and tell em you want a windscreen with the blue strip (will mine is blue) across the top, and the fitting for the rainsensor. Autoglass will do the rest mate...
Best to make sure they arrive with the right screen then life is easy
make sure they know what they are coming to fit.
They should do all of it. But phone them to confirm they have the rain sensor screen.
Although I did this, they still came twice with the wrong screen. Oh, and the third time, the rain sensor bracket fell off! That was AutoWindscreens (through Swift cover Ins). They eventually fitted it back with no problems to date. (apart from billing me four times for the screen excess).

Rain sensors are fairly common these days, so they will know how to remove and refit the sensor properly.
Just make sure that they know your car has one if it was optional on your model. With mine, when I phoned up Autowindscreens and gave them the registration number, the lass on the other said 'that's a Vectra Elegance - so you've got a rain sensor?'. So they should know to supply the correct screen with the bonded on mounting bracket for the sensor.
as above, let them know you have the sensor, and leave it all to them, if they break it, they fix it
make sure when they start to replace the scree that they un plug the
ribbon from the rain senor as ive had a sew members thats had their
windscreen replaced and the fitter had torn the ribbon and if that happens
then you have to replace the whole roof loom, this is very common for this to
happen, the fitter dosnt realise till its too late
if you unplug the ribbon connector the sensor will stop working and needs resetting....it just unclips from the glass and clips back on. Does you vehicle also have autoheadlights as theres two types of windscreen for these....one had a clear window that the sensor attaches to and the other has a shaded band in the sensor window....that glass is for the model thats rain sensor only if they fit that and you have autoheadlights...they will stay on perminently on the auto setting.
