Default 19" wheel upgrade suspension question

i have a 2006 sri estate running standard 17" wheels and am thinking of uprating to the 19" snowflake alloys but some people seem to think the suspension needs uprating????

    any ideas either way??

Doubt it, the SRi can be specced with 19"s as standard. My Design spec had uprated suspension with the 18"s when ordered as an option new, but I assume that was just to SRi standards.

Go for it, i've had 19's on mine for over 12 months without a hitch. There is talk of a suspension upgrade for 19's but as there is only 1 part number for it there is some doubt

Dont mean to hijack your thread m8, but I have a related question.

Thinking of swapping over to 19"'s also, but just how does it affect the comfort and handling of the car?. I've heard some say it makes it feel like it "tracks" over white lines and cats eyes, crashes into the slightest hole/imperfection in the tarmac, makes the ride harsh and jittery and handles very poorly in the wet.

Kinda put me off a bit, obviously!!!.

As i've said more than once in this thread, there is only ONE part number for the suspension arms. Mark GSi has checked the part numbers several times!
The ride is a little more harsh but nothing to write home about. My mother thinks the car is a dream to ride in (and she's in her 60's) so it can't be that hard!
It does "tramline" a bit on poor roads but again nothing too bad.

    Get them bought and fitted

Thanks m8, that puts me a little more at "ease" about 19"'s.

Just finding a set of Snowflakes is hard enough though!!!
