Default Extending the warranty Y or N?

Asking what people think on extending the warranty cause my car is 3 on the 24th. Was looking at vx extension around £300 and fully covered. But also want to do more track days and nurbergring next year.

Yes for peace of mind if something happened

    or

    No i'll be fine

    cheers Matt

Fully covered? For a year for 300£? Any consumables included / not included that may cost a bit or may be likely to fail?

Hmmmmmm...... I guess if you put it into perspective that how much does 300£ buy at a garage... then that cash soon gets eaten up by a repair bill....

I might be tempted to go for it & not tell them about nurburger

    Any alternative extended warranties available??

how do u mean consumables? any mechanical or electrical. from timing chain failure to crank sensor or a/c compressor. like the full vx warranty does everything apart from what wears normally.

Car care plan had it on my 06 cdti. doesn't cover checking but covered the £800 scv valves

I had a DMF replaced under warranty on my 1.9 CDTi, took it in to the dealer and asked to have a mechanic drive along with me. Explained how it was intermittent yet coinsided with the depressed clutch and idling engine. He claimed he couldn't hear anything.

After three weeks of practically arguing and trying to prove one another wrong I called up expressing the warranty paperwork stated 'clutch housing/facing' as an exclusion to what was covered. They said they would make a decision pending what the mechanic determined the noise actually was.
Another test drive and three days of waiting later to hear from the warranty company. Mechanic called telling me as long as it was sufficiently warn when it was dismantled they would cover it if not I would have to pay. Laim!
Two days later warranty comp called me and stated they would replace it free. Weird.
Cost me 12 squid for a courtesy car for the day and that's all.
Guess it depends who the warranty is with?

The DMF was the 'consumable' I had in mind. Probably the wrong choice of word, as ultimately the whole car is 'consumable'. Better - things that are considered normal wear and tear vs. something that has failed prematurely.

Just have a good look through the T&C's and make sure you're happy with everything

I have a thrird party 3 year warranty on my car from when I bought it, not used and to be truthful, don't really want to have to use it.
Very re-assuring knowing it's there though.

I would read the other warranty threads too, mine covers wear and tear items at a cost of £290 per year. hotels and transport etc.
