Default Now that analogue is turned off.........

Now that analogue is turned off is this not a good time to encrypt the BBC so those that don't want/watch it no longer have to pay a full licence fee?

Foe example you could have a reduced licence fee for radio only and encypt the BBCtv channels. That way if you want BBCtv you pay the full licence fee for them. Everyone else pays a small radio fee.

i think they should scrap it all together and just let them put adverts on the channel like all the other channels

Maybe they'd actually have some decent programs on the channels if they had to work for their money...

I think the fee covers recieving radio and tv signals from the BBC. I can't see how its possible to restrict radio signals but you could encrypt tv signals.

Hence a reduced radio only fee.

The BBC is broadcast live online aswell though, they cant encrypt that, and for watching the BBC live broadcasts online you're meant to have to have a TV licence..

Its all nonsence really, if everybody in the land suddenly stopped paying for a TV licence it would soon be abolished.. If a referendum was held, Im sure this country would vote to ditch the licence fee...
