Default Z22 YH Engine Spark plug change.

Just had a maindealer 4 year service which according to my service schedule is a big one. I think I got a reasonable deal at £199 including vat and parts. I was surprised, however, to find that the spark plugs had been replaced which is right for 4 years or 40,000 miles on many engines but not the Z22YH which in the schedule shows 8 years / 80,000 miles. My own car although 4 years old is now at 29,000. Has there to anyones knowledge been any change in vx advice on these matters.

    thanks ,

I have no idea about the actual vx service interval for the z22yh, but I recently changed mine in my 06 with about 26K on the clock, and the old ones were not in good shape

Not sure I noticed any difference in the car though lol

Not that I'm aware of. Possible local dealer decision?

My 2.2 is just over 5 years old with 67,000 miles on the clock, and still has the same plugs in. Runs as sweet as a nut.

i questioned this with my Z22 YH - 4th year service (40,000 miles), the dealer wanted to price me the spark plugs as this is part of their standard major service, i asked them (service reception) to check as handbook states 8 years - after a few mins they came back and apologised - spark plugs not required until 8 year service. This saved me some cash, but it sounds like you paid for the plugs and labour - my main service was £151
