Default anyone used nitrogen in tyres

i was talking to my neighbour the other day and he was telling me he puts nitrogen in his tyres for his porsche so at first thought the normal hes bull sh**ing me to big his car up then he said its £1 a tyre at ATS so this morning went b&q for 2 new jublieclips for air intake on car and on way back i though might as well have a look dont normanly use these companys Ats kwickfit etc but bored so went in to have a look spoke to a sound guy who has a signam so shown him the vectra-c sticker told him about the site and got the nitrogen done.
has anyone else ever had this done or any horror storys about it seems good as they said its what they use in racing as air gets hot and expands where nitrogen doesnt going to test it out in next few days as ive just put 20mm spacers on car as well

so odds on ive spent £4 on some nice bright green dust caps
the car itself feels different but odds on thats the 20mm spacers ive put on the front yesterday as i did the back last week will have to take it for a drive sometime this week on the back roads see if i can feel anything
on the plus side when he let all my tyres down i could see what the car would look like from the back when its lowered and i like the look it gave

It is meant to help, however the process is meant to be to fill the tyres. Unfill and then refill. If this isnt done then the process is supposedly flawed (just going on what a few fitters / mechanics have told me). Everyone ive spoken to has said its about an hour job to do properly.

Nitrogen is used in aircraft tyres to make them less likely to burst into flames in the event of a brake fire etc. Air is about 75% nitrogen anyway so in reality it makes naff-all difference in your car tyres and anything he's feeling is a placebo effect...

I'm not sure judging someone's likelihood of lying by the car they drive is an accurate method to be honest - he's only out to make money at the end of the day...
