Fitted my own bosal swan neck detachable towbar. took me about 1hr to fit the towbar as done it on my own with the help of two trolly jacks. Have to drop the rear exhaust off the rubber hangers, and drill the holes in the boot, easy to do even easier if you have a helping hand.

I got a local towbar fitter to do the wiring for cost me a tenner i think to get all the wiring fitted.

Mine was fitted by a specialist, but not very well. On a Signum CDTi '06' plate.

Had to go back with it as the back box was banging on one of the fixing bolts.
The back box is very close to the chassis member, so not much room between that when the bolts are also in there.

Solved by me in the end, I squeezed the rubber exhaust hanger a little so the back box hung slightly lower. So watch out for possible probs there.

Costs, well it was done lets say as a part of a deal when I bought the car last year.
They messed things up with the original towbar that was fitted (they lost the detachable bit), so paid to have a new one fitted. The fitter said this will cost around £350 to fit, his cost price to them or to me retail I don't know. All I know is I didn't have to pay.

you cant really go wrong drilling and fitting a towbar

the drilling marks are already there under the sound proofing on each side of
the boot floor, you just remove the sound proofing were necessary and drill
the relevant size holes and then bolt it all up

shouldnt take more than an hour to do

if you go for the vxl electric kit then they are just a case of the
wiring harness that plugs into the plug on the inner rear panel then a kind
of longish module plugs into the rec and may need a tech2 to activate.

    simple as that really
