I'm selling a car on ebay and it has 6hours left to run, its a 2002 convertable, and its only upto £550 is this normal? I have'nt set a reserve but dont really wanna part with it for that little amount of cash?

Have to agree thats the risk of auctions. Also if you put the word "convertable" in the title that wont have helped.

Really not good practice mate but if you don't want it to go for that then pull it.

How many of these bidders have actually been to look at the car, most are probably just speculative low bids hoping they just get a bargain, it could really start going up nearer the auction end time, there may be several bidders ready to snipe in the last seconds.. Sure, if you aint set a reserve and it sells for way less than what you expected then you are actually obliged to sell for that price. But you dont have to if you want to break the rules, you'll just get a seller strike and probably negative feedback... But the chances are the winning bidder wont even contact you after its finished anyway, that happens a lot..

I think the best way to sell cars on ebay is with a classified ad listing, just the same as putting on autotrader, people come out have a look, make you an offer..

Presuming its the car I have found, the fact you have zero feedback will have put people off, and your listing heading could have been clearer. As said you can just pull it and relist.

I agree with nibblitz. This might interest some of you: I sorted out the adverts for my father's car recently. Two identical ads - one on Auto Trader (£45), then after a week of no enquiries I also put a classified on Ebay (£15). Every enquiry he had came through Ebay.
