    Default Door trim rattle

    Hi all,

My Vectra has an annoying rattle coming from the passenger side door. I'm pretty convinced that it's due to the door trim not being properly secured. Applying pressure as indicated by the arrow prevents the noise.

Does anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to fix this? Am I likely to create more rattles and trouble for myself if I try to remove the door trim? How/where is the door trim actually attached to the door?

    Thanks.

Try & pull the trim out a bit & wedge a bit of blue tac in there. Cheap as, out of sight & easily done. In saying all that, doesn't really bring peace of mind when compared to a proper fix.

sounds like one of the 'pushin' clips has broken...

To remove the door skin, 1st gently prise off the front of the pull handle, this will reveal 2 screws, undo these. undo the row of screws under the door trim at the bottom..then start un-clipping the trim from the door, just pop them off working from the bottom to the top..then lift the trim up and it'll come off the doorpanel at the top by the window..to finally free it all you have left to remove is a bowden cable from the chrome door handle and a couple of multipulgs.. fit any new clips that are needed and refit..

you could even put some thin sticky foam on the back of the doorcard if you think it'll touch and rattle again..

Thanks Ozz and Gsi3.2, looks like I'll need to find my bravery hat and pull my door to bits... I guess I'll try to buy some of those plastic clips before I get started. Even if the old ones aren't broken, hopefully new ones will fit more tightly. The sticky foam sounds like a good idea too.
