I don't think the Vectra is anymore susceptible to damage than any other car with A/C. I was looking at the front of a BMW the other day and the holes in the lower grill are massive compared to the Vectra.
Probably black mesh is best though if you are doing it.
black wire mesh seems to be the general rule, Mine looks shocking but my a/c is broke anyway so not much point protecting it for me.
There are irmscher & sunsport mesh grille kits available to fill the gaps ... Some of these go for silly money and some are sold for an absolute bargain if you can find them
0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
Don't tailgate the car in front
Something like Woven Wire might be good. Ok its small sheets but you might only need a couple as it seems to be the area around the lower grill thats most vulnerable. Better to spend £15-20 preventing the problem in the first place I suppose.
I did this with mine. http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147354
It's only been on for a short while but has picked up some nice chips already.
I'm glad they are hitting the grille now and maybe stopping there.
